Years ago, mom-to be had few choices when it came to a new wardrobe for these nine months. Many mothers made their own clothing. When maternity clothes came onto the market, we saw cookie cutter pieces, most moms purchased just a few generic items to carry them through. Today a wide variety of retailers offer maternity lines. “Many of them are missing the mark yet when it comes to denim,” Lux feels.
This new service, allows women of all shapes, sizes and inseams, to send off a favorite pair of jeans from their closet, and within a week or two they will return on their doorstep ready for maternity wear. The jeans are custom fitted in our studio with a soft tummy cradle, changing very little about the overall shape and style of the jean. “The most frequent comment I hear about my jeans,” Lux offers, “Is that women love the way their ‘rear view’ looks in these jeans. It might sound silly, but that is a very important consideration for jean shoppers. Maternity jeans in general just don’t offer a flattering backside or profile like designer or name brand denim does,” she adds.
