Lifestyle: Midori Man of Style
Harold Mindel, Director of the prestigious agency Click Model Management, has spent years scouting, managing talent, negotiating contracts and putting together deals that can change a person’s life.
Harold has worked with such celebrities as Isabella Rossellini, Uma Thurman, Elle, Julia Roberts and a very young Whitney Houston. The company’s top male models today include Parker Gregory, the Tommy fragrance model, Louis Prada, the face of Calvin Klein CK and Ferragamo, Ambrose Olson, the face of the Dior Homme Skincare Collection and Dolce & Gabana, and Garrett Neff, the face of Lagerfeld.
How to break into the modeling world:
# It goes without saying that a model needs a great body, so go to the gym religiously.
# Remember that modeling is a business, so you need to be a disciplined professional.
# Personality counts - it’s that extra something that sets the really successful models apart.
# Looks can range from all-American to classic to quirky.
# To be successful, you need a lot of stamina; you’ll have to be “on” all the time when you’re working.
The glamorous world of fashion modeling can be a difficult place to break in to. The competition is fierce and it takes more than just a pretty face and toned physique. What exactly does it take to be a model? What are the requirements and is there a certain look? How does someone break into the business? Could any of them strut their stuff as a professional model?
On Thursday, September 28, we would like to offer up experts in the modeling industry to come on your program and discuss the ins-and-outs of becoming and being a model.
Mindel and Filar will both be judges in the upcoming “Midori Man of Style” competition in Chicago on September 28. The nationwide competition asks women to nominate the best-looking guys they know (21 and over) to win the title. One lucky guy will receive an exclusive contract with the prestigious Click Model Management, the chance to come to the Big Apple for a photo shoot and a 1/3 in book listing in the March 2007 issue of Marie Claire Magazine.
