A model from Christie’s auction house wears the black Givenchy dress worn by Audrey Hepburn in the 1961 movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”. Eighty years ago, the first real ‘Little Black Dress’ caused quite a stirr in the world of women’s fashion when it was unveiled by French designer Coco Chanel. Now the iconic garment is so ubiquitous it has its own entry in the New Oxford Dictionary and online Wikipedia encyclopedia.
