The Phillis Wheatley Civic Club presented its 23rd annual Madhatter’s Luncheon and Fashion Show on Jan. 13 at the Airport Hilton.

About 150 people attended. Guests were treated to a fashion show with clothing from Beyond Fashions.

The event raises money for scholarships and other local causes. The goal was to raise at least $2,000 through the luncheon.

Guests were encouraged to wear hats, and prizes were given in a variety of categories. Pauline Jones won for Best Vintage Hat, Minnie Gage won for Most Creative Hat, and Thurma Bonds won for Best Purchased Hat.
