2007 Spring Fashion Show to feature brunch, speaker

Fenton Area Right To Life will present its 2007 Spring Fashion Show on Saturday, Feb. 10 at Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian Church, 10235 White Lake Road, Fenton.

The event will begin with a Victorian Tea Brunch at 11 a.m., followed by a keynote presentation by Dr. Coleen Kelly Mast.

Her topic will be “What A Girl Wants: Respect.” She will discuss how girls and women earn the respect they deserve by living a life of virtue and develop both inner beauty and outer beauty. Her message is for girls 8 to 88.

Mast is an author, lecturer and radio talk show host, was a pioneer in the field of chastity education and currently helps with family life issues all over the country hosting a call-in radio advice show on 99 Catholic radio stations. She has appeared on television shows such as Oprah, Geraldo, Mother Angelica Live, 60 Minutes and Steubenville High School Youth Conferences. She has been married for 31 years and has five children, ranging in age from 13 to 29.

Mast wrote the “Love and Life” and “Sex Respect” chastity education programs, which include books and videos for teachers, teens and parents. She has taught at the elementary, junior high and high school levels and has been involved in Family Life Education since 1975. She holds a master’s degree in health education and secondary teaching certificates in theology, health, physical education and science.

Local teens will serve as models in the fashion show that follows. They will demonstrate how modesty and virtue can be and is stylish and in vogue.
