Sexy girls with swimsuit: Tips for buying a swimsuit
Swimsuit shopping tips
Marshals style expert Amy Cafes offered the following tips for choosing a swimsuit that best fits you body shape.
Body
The torso of a one-piece suit should lie perfectly flat with no puckering near the seams. There should be no pulling at the crotch, bust or straps.
Leg openings
Make sure leg openings are not digging into your skin.
Straps
Swimsuit straps should lie comfortably on the shoulders. If straps dig into the shoulders, try the suit in a size larger. If straps are too loose or fall down, try the suit in a size smaller.
Bust
Make sure there is enough coverage. Try moving around and lifting your arms. If the suit feels uncomfortable, it is not the suit for you.
Small bust
A light-colored, print halter top with a dark solid bottom works best.
Large bust
Minimize large busts by choosing an athletic two-piece suit with plenty of coverage and support. A medium-neck tank is great for this body style, too.
Love handles
The best style is a string bikini tied to fit.
Bigger hips
A V-cut bottom is slimming for the hips.
Short stature
Make thighs look longer with a higher cut leg. But do not go too high, or this style can make you look shorter.
Waistline
Create a waistline by wearing a one-piece suit with a side cutout, which pulls the eye inward. Or try a belted suit.
Color
Use darker colors on areas you want to hide or slim down, and brighter colors in places you want to show off.
Camouflage
Chevron stripes or prints with dark backgrounds tend to be slimming. Prints with lots of movement keep the eyes from focusing on flaws.
Embellishments
Avoid putting bows, belts or beads in problem areas. It will only attract the eye to your flaws.
