We don’t know about you, but to us nothing quite says “festive” like the Victoria’s Secret fashion show. Victoria’s Secret shows are legendary for their ostentation. And with that comes pressure every time to come up with something new and wonderful. Apparently Heidi Klum in itty bitty knickers and bra just isn’t enough for some people.

The extravaganza did not disappoint, with performances by the Spice Girls, Will.I.Am from The Black Eyed Peas and Seal (aka Mr Heidi Klum,) as well as innumerable hotties strutting their stuff in their underwear. Indeed, intimidating as it might be to perform while the likes of Karolina Kurkova parade by, the Spice Girls managed to steal the show, giving fans a sneak peak of their upcoming tour.

The Victoria’s Secret models sported a series of animal-inspired lingerie looks. Bras and panties were embellished and accessorized with plumage, skins and antlers to make Rudolph green with envy. While the looks are taken to the nth degree for the runway show, the lingerie is as pretty and wearable as ever, representing the bang for your buck that Victoria’s Secret is known for.

The back drop was also seasonally appropriate with models standing on a spiral stair to take the shape of a huge Christmas tree at one point, a glittery runway and amazing chandelier accents. The looks highlight the Holiday collection available from the store, as warm and toasty as lingerie can get.

If you’re looking for stocking fillers for your loved one this holiday season, check out the selection at Victoria’s Secret online. Take time to check her lingerie for the correct size (nobody wants to receive a D-cup when they wear an A-cup, or vice-versa.) And when you check, be sure you get the size from lingerie she actually wears regularly; there may be some ill-fitting sizes relegated to the bottom of her lingerie drawer.

As gifts, most women prefer matching sets, so splash out on the bra and panties. As far as style of underwear goes, opt for the style you know she wears, don’t choose a thong just because it’s what you like! It’s a horrible holiday cliche for a woman to receive unattractive red lingerie one would usually associate with a “lady of the night,” so opt for luxe and sensual over overtly sexy. And, in case you still err, hold onto that receipt!
